Pastoral Care

Anti BullyingThe pastoral care of the children is shared by all the staff, in particular, by the teachers, support staff and midday supervisors. Our behaviour and anti-bullying policies give clear guidance to staff on how to encourage good behaviour and effectively deal with any examples of unsatisfactory conduct, which might occur in school from time to time.

Each member of staff reports to the Head teacher any cases where children need specific medical assessment, (e.g. suspected deafness, speech problems, eyesight defects etc), including non-accidental injuries. We are then able to contact the school doctor, nurse or health visitor for advice. Home visits can be arranged if needed.

It is, perhaps, helpful for parents to know that the Government and Local Education Authority place a duty upon Head teachers to be vigilant in observing and reporting any obvious or suspected cases of child abuse. Therefore, we hope that, whilst causing possible upset, any enquiries made regarding such matters will be understood, as it is our legal duty to protect the children in our care.
