Music
Our aim is to give children a general knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of music, through providing opportunities to both listen to and perform a variety of music in lessons and extra-curricular clubs. On occasions, we also enjoy the opportunity to listen to professional musicians from various cultural or ethnic backgrounds. Musical experiences, which fulfil the requirements of The National Curriculum, include chances to; sing, listen to the works of well-known composers, use pitched and un-pitched musical instruments, and to make up musical compositions. The children record their work using tape recorders or using their own graphic scores.
Our school choir and recorder groups are run by staff, as extra-curricular activities. They perform regularly throughout the year, representing the school in various concerts, competitions or through community links.
