Curriculum
The National Curriculum Framework forms the basis for all teaching and learning in our school.
The National Curriculum:
- is a curriculum aimed at The Foundation Stage, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two.
- includes subjects which should be taught to all pupils except in exceptional circumstances.
- outlines programmes of study, specifying essential teaching points within each subject area.
- includes level descriptors, which describe the types and range of performance that pupils working at a particular level should demonstrate.
- includes assessment arrangements, relating to the levels of attainment defined by the level descriptors.
Religious Education is not part of the National Curriculum. However, there is a statutory requirement for all pupils to be taught this subject, except where parents request otherwise. Religious Education is taught according to a locally agreed syllabus.
